As we wrap up 2007, I enjoy looking back on the year. We had a very good season, expanding into Learning Based Vacations with new visitors from Iowa and Norway. The early rains made the native prairie beautiful in the spring and held up for most of the summer. The camping area was used by boy scouts, church groups and a few stray campers looking for time away from the "real world."
Our annual NDSU and UND tours were great fun and we look forward to hosting more events in 2008. Unfortunately we did not have a sanctioned race this year, but we will be working hard to make it happen next year as we enjoy visiting with the mountain bike enthusiasts from across the state.
Expansion next year is in the planning stages as we evaluate where and how to meet the needs of our ever growing visitors. Possibly a primative cabin and snowshoe/cross country trails. The options are open for comment, so let us know what you think would be an added value for our area and the state. We will also be working closely with the State of North Dakota to help promote nature and rural tourism in hopes more of our neighbors can find their niches - as each of us grows so does our opportunity to live and work in this great state of North Dakota.
The trails are closed for the season. If you want to visit, please call ahead. Happy Traills.
